Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rate Relief 2024/25
Posted on : 20 Mar 2024
The Welsh Government has issued details of a new temporary business rate relief scheme under which retail, leisure and hospitality properties will benefit from April 2024. The 2024/25 scheme offers a discount of 40% on non-domestic rate bills for eligible occupied properties but the relief is subject to a £110,000 cap on the amount each business can claim across properties occupied by the same business in Wales.
All eligible businesses will have to complete an online declaration form which is now available on the Council’s
website
. As our annual bill production process is already underway, the 2024/25 annual bills will be issued before this rate relief can be granted. However, the Business Rate Team will aim to process declaration forms submitted via our website as soon as possible so businesses receive amended bills as a matter of urgency.
For more details, please read the Welsh Government’s Guidance on
Non-Domestic Rates – Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief 2024-25 | Business Wales (gov.wales)
.
If you have any queries, please email the Business Rates Team at

Important:
Ratepayers should contact us directly regarding the above rate relief; you do not need to employ a rating agent to act on your behalf.
