Popular Caerphilly Food & Drink Festival attracts thousands of visitors to town

This year’s Caerphilly Food & Drink Festival took place on Saturday the 27th of April in Caerphilly Town Centre.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the town centre to enjoy the event with footfall in Castle Court Shopping Centre being just over 24,000. There were 2 Park and Walks in place at different schools which many visitors made good use of for easy access to the town.

The event saw over 150 trade pitches as well as a whole host of other activities and events such as cookery demonstrations, animals, and funfair attractions to keep everyone entertained.

Hear what local businesses and traders thought about the festival:

Marie Cresci's Cheesecakes said “Thank you for another outstanding event. We had another sell out along with so many other traders.”

Pembrokeshire Cheesecake Co. commented “We had a great time at the food festival and just wanted to say thanks to the team for a well organised event. Everyone was professional, friendly, and good fun and it all adds to the day for us stall holders. It was my first Caerphilly event and I’d love to come back next year.”

Little Grandmas Kitchen said “Wow, what a great event. Considering the weather, the town was packed.”

Chock Shop commented “Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the team for an amazing day. We had a great time, in an amazing location!”

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration, and Climate Change also commented “There was an increase in the number of stalls and businesses trading in the town at this year’s event, so this added more diversity for visitors. The addition of Ffos Caerffili brought more opportunities for local people and visitors to enjoy themselves, so we’re really happy with the event and to see the positive feedback.”

Our next event is the Bargoed May Fair in Bargoed Town Centre this Saturday the 4th of May. Don’t miss out!
