Good Practice in Public Services

What Is This?

This tool gives you links that provide guidance and examples of good practice in citizen engagement across Wales.

What Is Its Use?

This tool explores good practice on engagement exercises such as user panels and consultations.

Improving Public Services

Citizens are users of public services. In recent years, local and national Government have actively sought the views of service users – in much the same way that private sector companies use market research. This is obviously a good way of improving the quality of services.

Getting the views of service users is a very direct form of citizen engagement.

Flintshire County Borough Council – Listening Lunch

In Flintshire, service users have voiced their opinions on homecare services directly to Local Authority managers. These listening sessions are held at a convenient time of day and lunch is provided – Listening Lunch!
