Viewpoint panel

The Caerphilly Viewpoint Panel was set up as part of our commitment to understanding the views of our residents. Over the past five years the panel has grown from just 70 members to just under 1000.

The panel is made up of a group of local people living in Caerphilly county borough who have been selected to represent your community. We try to make sure that there is a good balance of men and women, people from all age groups, people with disabilities, people from the black or minority ethnic community and those from all parts of the County Borough.

Panel members are asked to complete 3 or 4 postal questionnaires a year about the council, Police and Local Health Group and the services that they deliver. Panel members are also invited to attend meetings to discuss topics in a bit more detail.

Some of the topics that have been consulted on recently include community safety, libraries and parks and wide-ranging issues like the Community Strategy, customer services and the council decision making process.

Becoming a member of the Viewpoint Panel

If you are aged over 16 and would like to become a member, you will need to complete our application form. We welcome applications from all parts of the community and are particularly keen to hear the views of younger adults, people with disabilities and those from the black or minority ethnic community who are often under-represented on the Viewpoint Panel.
