Public Protection Enforcement Policy

Our Public Protection Division carries out of a wide range of protective and regulatory functions, which seek to protect, promote and improve the health, safety and economic well being of our communities and our employees, as well as regulate trade, commerce and the environment. They also enforce numerous statutes, many of which include criminal sanctions on those who infringe the law.

To ensure a fair and consistent approach to our enforcement responsibilities we have produced an Enforcement Policy.

The Enforcement policy is endorsed by the Head of Public Protection Community and Leisure and the Cabinet Member for Planning and Public Protection. We welcome feedback on the policy, particularly responses from those persons affected by it. It is available in Welsh on request and may be provided in other languages or formats if required.
