Police and Crime Commissioner Election 2016

Labour's Jeff Cuthbert has been elected Gwent police and crime commissioner.

Results as follows: -

Second round: 

  • Jeff Cuthbert (Labour) - 96,030 (61.6%) - Elected
  • Louise Brown (Conservative) - 59,931 

First round:

  • Jeff Cuthbert (Labour) - 76,893 (46.4%) - 19,137 2nd preference votes
  • Louise Brown (Conservative) - 50,985 (30.7%) - 8946 2nd preference votes
  • Darren Jones (Plaid Cymru) - 37,916 (22.9%) 

Turnout: 165,794

Second preference votes are only used if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote. The top two candidates then receive the second preference votes from their eliminated opponents.
