Ffiliffest 2017

A free entry fun-packed festival will take over Caerphilly Castle on Saturday June 17th.

Ffiliffest is Menter Caerffili’s summer celebration of the Welsh language and of local Welsh traditions, and the event will include performances, entertainment, activities, workshops and a chance to explore the rooms, corridors and towers of Caerphilly Castle.

Menter Caerffili has worked closely with Cadw, community groups and performers to plan the event which is unique to the area.  Hundreds of local school children have been preparing and practising traditional Welsh folk dancing to stage the largest performance in the county as one of the highlights of the event.  This year the festival goes on untill 7:00pm, with performances by Welsh language musicians Candelas, the soloist John Nicholas, Adwaith and many more.

There will be gift stalls, and various food and drinks stalls including a cocktail caravan and a beer and cider marquee, many activities and fun educational workshops will also be at the event including an arts and craft tent, a VR and retro games area and all this is within the unique setting of the Castle.

Ffiliffest organisers are extremely grateful to thier main sponsors, Welsh Government, Caerphilly County Borough Council and The Big Lottery for their support.

Ffiliffest takes place on Saturday, June 17th between 11am and 7pm at Caerphilly Castle.
