Working creatively together

Many towns, villages and country parks within Caerphilly county borough feature eye-catching imaginative pieces of public artwork, including sculptures, mosaics, murals and other original art forms.

We work creatively with local schools, communities, artists and arts based organisations to develop and produce artwork that enriches and reflects the history, future and culture of local communities throughout the county borough.

In its simplest state public art provides provocative interest within the environment and helps stimulate a sense of pride and identity. Over the years a significant amount of investment has focused on public artworks within the county borough, with the Urban Renewal Team alone involved in a circa £1.7m investment portfolio within this creative sector. Funding for these schemes has principally come from a range of external funding organisations and the council.
