During the first two weekends of an operation to tackle youth disorder in Oakdale, three people have been arrested for public order offences.
A further eight Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) referrals have been made and officers have stopped and searched six people.
The Blackwood Neighbourhood Policing Team has increased their presence in Oakdale on Friday nights in response to local residents' concerns. They have also seized alcohol from underage drinkers.
Caerphilly County Borough Council's CCTV operators and Community Safety Wardens are working with the Neighbourhood Policing Team as part of the operation.
Anti-social behaviour in Oakdale Recreation Ground is one of the current Partnership and Communities Together (PACT) priorities for the Penmaen ward.
Before the launch of the operation a fortnight ago, officers had arrested five individuals for various offences including public order, conducted seven stop and searches and made three Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) referrals, over the previous weekends.
Blackwood Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Jonothan Harris, said "Anyone who has found to be taking part in anti-social behaviour in the Oakdale area has had a strong message from us that it will not be tolerated. Tackling anti-social behaviour is one of the key priorities that residents have highlighted during the local PACT meetings, and we are keen to ensure that our operations do just that.
"Underage drinking appears to fuelling anti-social behaviour by the minority in Oakdale, and we will continue to work with our partners to limit the avenues available for underage people to get hold of alcohol. I want to appeal to adults not to supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 and we are working with the Council to take action against anyone who is found to be doing so."
Community Safety Manager Howard Rees said, "Tackling anti social behaviour and reducing the harm caused by alcohol are two of the key strategic priorities of the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership. Our team of CCTV operators and Community Safety Wardens, in addition to other Council departments will continue to work with our partner agencies, to illustrate to the minority that anti social behaviour in our community will not be tolerated. Directed operations such as this show just that."
The next PACT meeting for Penmaen will be held on Tuesday 27 May at 6.30pm at the Oakdale Community Centre.
