Crime prevention will be the order of the day later this month, when a network of dedicated volunteers come together to see how they can continue to help make Caerphilly county borough an even safer place.
The Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network, which comprises more than 200 volunteers, will meet with Community Safety Partnership officials to discuss how they can continue to play a key role in helping to tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour in Caerphilly county borough.
The event will take place on Monday 19th September at Caerphilly County Borough Council's headquarters Penallta House, from 5.45pm until 7.45pm.
The focus of this meeting will be on crime prevention initiatives, and there will also be special information sharing presentations from Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network members on crime reduction and initiatives aimed at reducing the threat of doorstep crime by cold callers.
There will also be a presentation on the Online Watch Link (OWL) initiative.
Cllr Rob Gough, Cabinet Member for Public Protection said, "This dedicated group of volunteers continue to really help make a positive difference in our communities, and their local knowledge is invaluable in establishing key issues in their local areas".
He continued, "I would encourage anyone who is interested in finding out more, or who is interested in becoming a part of this ever increasing number of volunteers to come along on 19th September".
The Safer Caerphilly Volunteer Network acts as the vital direct link between crime and disorder fighting agencies and the communities they serve in Caerphilly county borough.
