Reward for learning

    Adult Learners in Cefn Fforest have been rewarded for their efforts at a special 'Celebration of Learning' evening.

    The event, organised by Cefn Fforest Communities First Partnership, took place at the Oasis Centre during Adult Learners' Week. Among the guests was First Minister for Wales, Rhodri Morgan who came along to say a few words of encouragement to the learners.

    The theme of the evening was 'Learning is Forever' and throughout the night a number of digital stories made by the learners themselves were shown. The event also featured entertainment from Blackwood Comprehensive Hand Bell Ensemble.

    Communities First Training Officer, Nancy Harris, said, "It was a fabulous evening and it was so encouraging to see so many residents from the local community coming together to celebrate their achievements."
