Multi award-winning Theatre Ad Infinitum bring their hit play Translunar Paradise to Blackwood Miners' Institute on Friday 6th July.
Translunar Paradise takes audiences on a journey of life, death and enduring love. It tells the story of a man who loses his wife and escapes to a paradise of fantasy and past memories, a place far from the reality of his grief. Returning from beyond the grave, his wife revisits her widowed companion to perform one last act of love: to help him let go…
Exquisitely created, Translunar Paradise is told entirely without words and in their place are movement, haunting music and masks. This is a powerful and emotional tale of a man who is confronted by the solitude of bereavement.
Sharon Casey, General Manager at Blackwood Miners' Institute said "I'm delighted that Translunar Paradise is coming to Blackwood Miners' as it really is one of the best shows I've ever seen. At Blackwood Miners' Institute, we pride ourselves on the quality of events that we present. In our efforts to attract new visitors for professional arts performances such as drama and dance, it's important for us to seek out high quality theatre around."
"Our long term aim is for audiences to associate us with the very best in arts and entertainment."
The company premiered Translunar Paradise to substantial critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe 2011 and they have gone on to win a number of theatre awards for this production, including the Audience Award at MESS Festival, Sarajevo and the 1st Prize BE Festival Development Award in 2010.
Translunar Paradise will be in concert at Blackwood Miners Institute on Friday 6th July at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12.00 (£11.00 concs) and are available from the box office on 01495 227206 or online at www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com.
