Green shoppers in Bargoed town centre will be able to recycle their old plastic bags and get a free 'Bag for Life' at a special event next week.
The 'Big Bag @ Bargoed' will take place on Friday 3rd October at St Gwladys Car Park from 10.00am - 2.00pm.
Shoppers will be able to hand in their old plastic carrier bags for recycling and in return they will receive a free reusable bag.
CCBC cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Lynn Ackerman, said, "This event shows the council's commitment to promoting sustainability and creating cleaner, more attractive towns centre. Please come along and do your bit to make the Caerphilly county borough a cleaner, greener place for everyone."
The council's recycling trailer will also be located in the car park offering advice on recycling and composting as well as information on waste and energy saving services delivered by the council.
