Young Ambassadors from St. Martins School are leading the way and will inspire the whole school to be active, by taking part in Olympic and Paralympic sports through organising their very own Mini Olympic Event next week.
The initiative has come about after money was awarded to the school's Young Ambassadors Adistar pupils who applied for funding through the Physical Education School Sport (PESS) consortium and were awarded £500 to organise such an event.
The pupils have worked hard with the overall organizing from recruiting volunteers, sourcing equipment, booking out facilities to employing a photographer to capture snap shots of the overall day.
As part of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the role of a Young Ambassador involves increasing participation in school sport and PE, spreading the word of the Olympic and Paralympic Values - respect, friendship, excellence, courage, determination, inspiration and equality - and promoting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The countdown has never been so exciting - pupils will be geared up to watch the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games and will hopefully capture their enthusiasm to continue the Olympic Fever through the summer holidays and beyond.
