>Fans of our feathered friends can get involved in this year's Big Garden Birdwatch at a special free event taking place in Parc Cwm Darran this weekend.
The event, organised by Caerphilly county borough council, takes place on Saturday 24th January from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Activities on offer will include bird box and feeder making, bird walks and talks, bird ringing demonstrations and displays of live owls and other birds of prey.
There will also be information and advice on garden birds, wildlife gardening and opportunities to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch!
Indoor facilities, including toilets, are provided at the country park visitor centre. Car parking is available as well as disabled access. Parc Cwm Darran is located near Deri, north of Bargoed, CF81 9NR (grid ref. SO 1134 0349)

Entry is free, but donations are requested for some of the activities.
