>Caerphilly Leisure Centre kicks off the summer with an action packed weekend.
Sports Development in partnership with Caerphilly Leisure Centre recently hosted a 'Get Active' weekend. The event raised awareness of the 'Get Active' initiative, which encourages people to become physically, mentally and culturally active within the community.
Activities running included netball, swimming, football, lifeguarding, healthy food awareness and first aid. The Royal Life Saving Society came in to raise awareness of dangers around the open water and also how to act if help is needed.
Approximately 220 participants arrived at the centre over the weekend to take part in various activities and have the opportunity to socialise with peers. The main events included both Netball and Football tournaments the winners included, Team Caerphilly and Fleur De Lys, runners up were Heath A and Pengam.
