British sprinter Jamie Baulch spent the day encouraging pupils at Risca Comprehensive School to uphold their schools motto – 'a healthy body equals a healthy mind'.

Risca has become the 14th and final secondary school in the Caerphilly county borough to come on board with the '5x60' scheme aimed at encouraging more people to lead active lifestyles.

The launch was a big success with many physical activities taking place throughout the day including dodgeball, boxercise, golf, ultimate frisbee and Gaelic football.

This is the third year that the '5x60' scheme has been running. The council's Sports Development Team now employs eight officers who are based in schools across the county borough to ensure the project maintains its success.

The Mayor of Caerphilly county borough council, Cllr Anne Collins, said, "There is a fantastic atmosphere within the school today, I am delighted to be here to see all the children taking part and enjoying the sporting activities."
