Workshops Offer FREE Family Fun

    01 December 2011

    Children with their festive lanterns

Don't forget to come along to Caerphilly Leisure Centre this weekend for the first set of lantern making workshops, in preparation for the River Of Light Parade at the end of December.

As we enter the Christmas season, why not enjoy some FREE family fun time and bring your children along and make a special lantern. The workshops are a pleasurable experience for the young and old, children can release their creative abilities and adults get the chance to behave like children and really get stuck in! Don't let your competitive streak take over your child's project!! Make your own!!

You can make a family lantern and try something a bit more adventurous, or if you would rather have a lantern each there will be plenty of craft paper and glue for you to all have a go.

This year's theme is magic and wizardry. Gain inspiration from Caerphilly born Tommy Cooper or from current TV hits Merlin and Harry Potter; they all offer great ideas to make your lantern really special this year.

Spend an hour or a day making your lantern - the workshops will be taking place at Caerphilly Leisure from 9am - 5pm on 3rd/4th, 10th/11th and 17th/18th December offering you plenty of opportunities to get over there and make your very own lantern to carry in the parade on 22nd December.

There are many other workshops taking place across the county borough to support the numerous parades taking place, visit the Christmas website for a full list or contact 029 2088 0011 for more information.
