Take a fun trip down memory lane and explore life in South Wales since the Queen's coronation in 1952. From fashion to music, working life to social life, from the '50s to the "noughties" – step through the decades to mark the Diamond Jubilee.
Sample some of the best music from the "hit parade", discover fashion triumphs and disasters and play a game of Royal Top Trumps! Explore the museum galleries for clues of how life has changed in the last 60 years and find out more about Royal visits to the County Borough through the decades.
"Diamond Decades" runs from 10am-5pm on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June and admission is FREE. There's also the chance to see our remarkable historic winding engine in action as it will be running at 12pm & 3pm on both days.
On your visit, why not also take some time to explore our fascinating new exhibition about "the Queen of the Ocean": The Titanic, the Mill and the Signal: Artie Moore and Titanic's SOS. Discover our local area's unique link to RMS Titanic and find out more about the tragic story of the world's most famous ship. The exhibition is FREE and is open for the rest of the year.
