>Caerphilly County Borough Council joined forces with Wales Probation Trust recently to give Caerphilly Mountain a spruce up.
On a sunny day when visitors from near and far were enjoying the views from the summit, a team of the council's Tidy Towns Officers and people undertaking Community Payback with the Wales Probation Trust were helping to clean the area, while others were helping to further improve the area's appearance by helping construct dry stone walls.
In total, almost half a tonne of litter and waste was removed from the site during the clean up.
Throughout the month of May, Caerphilly County Borough Council is encouraging schools, residents and community groups to grab their litter pickers, spades and wheelbarrows and join forces with the council for The Big Spring Clean 2012!
Litter pickers and refuse sacks are available for any groups or schools wishing to organise a clean up – the council will also arrange to collect the litter collected following the clean up.
