A temporary one-way system will be introduced along Commercial Street in Ystrad Mynach this week (Thursday 26th January) as part of the ongoing highway improvements taking place in the area.
Commercial Street shall be closed to northbound vehicles and the northbound bus stop will be temporarily located adjacent to nearby Penallta RFC club house. The southbound bus stop will remain in use at its existing location.
The one-way system will allow Dwr Cymru Welsh Water to carry out essential works in the highway. It is anticipated that the Commercial Street one-way arrangements will be in place for approx. 5 weeks.
The ongoing one-way arrangement on the A472 outside the New Cottage Dance centre will also continue until the end of February in order to install a separate Dwr Cymru Welsh Water main installation and complete subsequent highway works.
The council would like to apologise for any disruption caused by these works, but they are an essential part of the major highway improvements that will bring benefits to motorists at this key strategic location in the future.
