>This Saturday May 26th Blue Peter will be sailing into Caerphilly to coincide with the Olympic Torch Relay on the first stop of their Big Olympic Tour, bringing it with it Horrible Histories!
Following on from the live broadcast an exciting family day will take place, Blue Peter will host 4 half an hour interactive shows followed by a live Horrible Histories performance! The interactive shows will have fun sports challenges and bring to life key moments from Olympic History.
All features at the event will be interactive and designed to inspire children and their families with Olympic spirit, Get Cycling will be offering the chance for people to try out a mega bike, parents can join their children in the traditional three legged race or find out what it takes to become an Olympic Athlete. Once residents have tried out the sports they can see how the body responds to movement and exercise at The Wellcome Trust area, who will be bringing an interactive exhibition of the human body.
And to exercise the mind, young residents can have a go at being an Olympic sports reporter and see the journalism and technical skills involved, or in true Blue Peter fashion get crafty building their own Olympic stadium out of egg boxes and yogurt pots!
Once residents have worked up an appetite with Blue Peter they can head into Caerphilly town centre and enjoy a feast at the Caerphilly Food Festival, whilst taking in the colourful blooms of the Caerphilly Flower Festival
