The countdown has started to this year's Big Balloon weekend in Blackwood and local residents will once again be able to take advantage of a FREE bus service to the festival site.
Caerphilly county borough council is keen to attract as many local people as possible to this year's event, so it has organised a special free bus schedule on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August.
The services will pass through a number of local communities including Aberbargoed, Bargoed, Blackwood, Britannia, Fleur-de-Lys, Glan-y-Nant and Oakdale.
The fun will kick off at the Big Balloon at midday on Sunday 30th August with a wide variety of entertainment on offer over the two days. Balloons of all shapes, sizes and colours will be displayed at the Show Fields and, weather permitting, a mass balloon launch will take place on both days at 6pm.
The highlight of the weekend is the spectacular nightglow and fireworks display, which takes place on the Sunday evening and attracts thousands of people.
The event also boasts a fantastic funfair with rides and attractions to suit people of all ages.
