Bird lovers in the Caerphilly county borough will get the chance to take part in the world's biggest bird survey this month while exploring the attractions of a popular country park.
Caerphilly county borough council's Countryside and Landscape Service will hold their 'Big Garden Birdwatch' event on Saturday 26th January from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Parc Cwm Darran in Deri, near Bargoed.
The event will follow the guidelines of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch weekend with all sightings of our feathered friends being recorded.
This year there will be a chance to join in on a guided walk around the park spotting woodland and wetland birds. There will also be an opportunity to visit a temporary hide located high above the park. Each walk will be limited to 10 places so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
There will be plenty of activities at the park's visitor centre, which will include bird box making, bird feeder making, children's crafts, and a display of birds of prey. Hot food will be available from a local producer using locally reared meats.
