>Nine schools from across Caerphilly county borough are celebrating, having been awarded glowing reports for their work in PE this year.
The schools have been awarded the 'ActiveMarc Cymru', which endorses schools that are committed to developing high quality physical education and school sport and for promoting the benefits of physical activity.
Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Caerffili, Tir-y-Berth Primary, Park Primary, Lewis School Pengam, St Gwladys Primary, Ty Sign Primary, Cwmcarn Primary, Maesycwmmer Primary and Blackwood Primary have all achieved the 'ActiveMarc' this year.
Cllr Phil Bevan, Cabinet Member for Education, Leisure and Lifelong Learning said, "This is an excellent achievement for these schools, and is testament to the teaching staff at the schools for their commitment to providing first class physical education to the schools' pupils".
Sport Wales and the Association for Physical Education (afPE) are championing schools, which recognise the importance of PE.
