    Residents across the Caerphilly county borough can take advantage of a FREE bus service to this year's Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly.

    Caerphilly county borough council is keen to attract as many local people as possible to this year's event so it has organised a special free bus schedule for the festival which takes place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July.

    The Big Cheese weekend is the biggest annual event taking place in the county borough offering an exciting programme of events, activities and fun for all the family.

    Two free bus services will pass through a number of towns and villages including Risca, Crosskeys, Wattsville, Cwmfelinfach, Ynysddu and Blackwood, Cefn Fforest, Pontllanfraith, Maesycwmmer on route to the Big Cheese site in Caerphilly.

    "We hope this special bus service will help attract even more people to this fantastic weekend festival. The Big Cheese is the highlight of our summer events calendar and offers something for everyone so I would urge everyone to come along and join in the fun," said Leader of Council, Cllr Lindsay Whittle.

    The free buses will drop off and pick up at the main bus station in Caerphilly town centre, allowing visitors to visit the local shops and restaurants in the town centre before strolling onto the event site.
