>Human 'Olympian' statues helped bring ancient Athens to Caerphilly town centre yesterday (Monday 26th March) to mark the announcement of the Olympic Torch Relay street route through Caerphilly.
The Olympic Torch will travel around more than 1,000 cities, towns and villages during its relay around Britain, and Caerphilly is lucky enough to receive a visit on Saturday 26th May; providing the whole community with their 'Moment to Shine'.
The torch will begin its journey at the top of Watford Road at approximately 9.42am on Saturday 26th May, and will travel along St Martin's Road, along Cardiff Road through Caerphilly town centre, turn left at the traffic lights near the Piccadilly, and onto Nantgarw Road where it will complete its journey near the crossroads onto St Cenydd Road.
