Caerphilly County Borough Council are offering an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a classic play and picnic supper in the grounds of Penallta House - the council's new headquarters, presented in collaboration with the county's leading theatre and live entertainment venue Blackwood Miners' Institute.
Cornwall based Miracle Theatre bring an unique outdoor performance of Molière's sharpest comedy Tartuffe on Wednesday 24th June at 7:30pm. Doors open 6:45pm. The cost per person for picnic and theatre ticket is £18. Picnic menus can be downloaded from www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com.
Using a brand new translation, Miracle applies its talent for satire, farce and physical theatre to Molière's sharpest comedy, which is as fresh and provoking today as when it was banned in 1664. When a wealthy man starts treating a homeless vagrant as his guru and lifestyle guide, it triggers alarm bells amongst his offspring, driving them to take drastic action to protect their inheritance. But will the devious Tartuffe, be one step ahead of them?
Tartuffe is at Penallta House for one night only and is set in a bistro café style around the oval lawn, so bring your rugs and enjoy the experience. Miracle Theatre are celebrating their 30th year of presenting open air theatre.
Places are limited so book early by calling the Blackwood Miners' Institute Box Office on 01495 227206 or book your tickets online at www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com.
