>As part of National Tackling Drugs Week, the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership is organising a roadshow to showcase the excellent work being undertaken in the Caerphilly county borough to tackle the issue of drugs.
The event, which will take place on Friday 12th June, from 12pm until 7pm at Hangar 81 in Aberbargoed, will feature many of the Caerphilly county borough's leading drug and other substance misuse intervention providers including Drugaid, Fusion Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service, Drugs and Alcohol Family Support (DAFS), Gwent Alcohol Project (GAP) and many more.
Representatives from each of these organisations will be on hand to provide information on exactly what help is available to people with drug and other substance misuse issues in the Caerphilly county borough.
Legendary boxing trainer, Enzo Calzaghe will also be coming along (at 4:00pm) to pledge his support to the work of the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership and associated agencies.
Caerphilly County Borough Council's Youth Service will also be at the event between 4:00pm and 7:00pm and will be running activities including face painting, jewellery making and arts and crafts.
Alternative therapies will also be available from 2:00pm - 6:00pm.
Cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Lyn Ackerman said, "Drugs and other substances not only affect the lives of the person using the substance, but also the wider family and to some extent the wider community too.
I would really encourage anyone who would like to know and understand more about how drugs and other substances are being tackled in the Caerphilly county borough to come along to this roadshow event."
