>Singing trio Triawd are the first ever winners of Caerphilly's Got Talent!
The final took place at Blackwood Miners' Institute on Sunday and all 16 finalists put on a fantastic show for the packed and enthusiastic house.
Joanne Griffiths, Caitlin Hudson & Rhianna Davis, aged 14 & 15 and all pupils at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Rhymni, won judges over with their acapella version of The Andrews Sisters 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' from The 1941 Movie, 'Buck Privates'.
One of the judges, Pobol y Cwm actress Roz Richards, an ex pupil of Cwm Rhymni herself, said that the "school should be proud of you!" The other two judges, Caerphilly sisters Kally and Tammy, known as Electrovamp and signed by major record label Island at the end of 2007, said that the girl's vocals were perfect and they were their "favourite of the night".
The girls received a £600 holiday voucher, donated by Morgan Travel in Caerphilly.
Three other acts were also awarded runner up prizes. In second place was 11-year-old singer Lowrie Phillpott from Blackwood. In third place were 15 dancers and singers from Fleur-de-Lys Amateur Dramatic & Musical Society and fourth place went to Fusion, 16-year-old dance duo from St Cenydd Comprehensive.
All the organisers would like to thank everyone who applied for the competition, all the finalists and all the staff from Blackwood Miners' Institute and Caerphilly Leisure Centre who made this year's event such a success - look out for Caerphilly's Got Talent 2009!
