    Caerphilly Flower Festival and Day of Dance takes place this weekend

    Families in the Caerphilly county borough looking for something to do this weekend will be spoiled for choice.

    The action kicks off in Caerphilly town centre on Saturday with the Caerphilly Flower Festival and Day of Dance, which includes 'kids go wild', 'pot a plant', craft stalls and floral displays. A free open top bus will also allow people to take in the church displays in and around Caerphilly town centre over the weekend. The Flower Festival will take place on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June.

    Also taking place on Saturday 27th June is the popular Bargoed Carnival. Starting at 12:00pm in Bargoed Park, the carnival features funfair rides, a live music stage, dance show, children's activities, stalls, crafts and much more.

    For classic car lovers, a special Transport Festival is taking place at Llancaiach Fawr Manor in nelson from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday 28th June. Over 150 vintage and classic vehicles are expected to be on display. Admission is free, but there is a £2 charge for parking on site.

    For a change of scenery, a vintage bus service will be operating between the Transport Festival at Llancaiach Fawr Manor in Nelson, The Winding House in New Tredegar and the Flower Festival in Caerphilly on Sunday 28th June.

    Starting at 11:00am the bus will leave Llancaiach Fawr Manor on the hour until 4:00pm. The last bus from Caerphilly back to Llancaiach Fawr Manor will leave at 4:30pm with a final trip from Llancaiach Fawr leaving at 5:00pm destined to drop off in Caerphilly only.
