Caerphilly County Borough Councils Tenancy Enforcement Section works extremely hard to improve the quality of life for tenants experiencing problems with anti-social behaviour.
The teams' primary job is to investigate allegations of anti-social behaviour against council tenants and leaseholders.
Anti-social behaviour can be defined as any behaviour likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress and can include things such as vandalism, graffiti, violence and noise problems.
Caerphilly County Borough Councils cabinet member for the environment and housing services, Cllr David Poole said, "The council, as a landlord, will not put up with continual anti-social behaviour by its tenants, leaseholders, their family members or visitors. The Tenancy Enforcement Section does an excellent job in the community dealing with disputes and is able to employ a range of actions to ensure that local people enjoy an acceptable quality of life."
The Tenancy Enforcement Section is also involved in the referral and decision making process for Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABC's) and Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO's).
To make a complaint against a council tenant:
- Any complaint of anti-social behaviour should, in the first instance, be reported to your local Area Housing Office. This can be done in person, by telephone, by letter or by email.
- The Area Housing Office will then complete a referral form and send all details of the complaint to the Tenancy Enforcement Section.
- The complaint will then be logged; an acknowledgement letter sent, and the complaint will be graded before being referred to the appropriate officer for investigation.
