Ystrad Mynach Community Partnership have organised their Fifth Annual Fun Day on Saturday 21st July from 12-5pm at Lewis Girls School playing fields. This year the event has grown even bigger with a third more stalls and over 26 activities to choose from – which are all FREE after entry.
The event offers something for everyone - for the younger ones there are arts and crafts, bouncy castles, toddler area, and ball play and for older children (and adults!!) there is a Climbing Wall, Mega Slide, Pole Joust, and twin bungee run.
For the young, and young at heart, there are lots of Sports activities courtesy of Caerphilly Sports Development or giant Jenga and shoe golf with Groundwork's Spots and Stripes team. For the more creative types why not try your hand at willow weaving, pottery, wood turning, screen printing, glass craft, bag craft or decorate your own plant pot.
For dog owners there is also a Fun Dog Show between 3 -5 pm organised by Four Paws Animal Rescue Charity – with categories such as 'best sausage catcher', 'golden oldie' and 'cutest trick' there will be plenty of opportunities for your four legged friend to wow the judges!
This event is a great day out, there is so much to do and see, including Ystrad Mynach Male Voice Choir, Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir, Local Karate Group, DYT Dance Fusion, Melody Makers, Storm Cheerleader Stunt team, Devhan's School of Ballet and at 1pm will be the winners of Ystrad Has Talent – local dance group DYT Lil'Dynamitez, local dance duo Angelica Long and Amelia Brown and local singer Abbie Tudor.
Councillor Alan Angel said "This event is a big occasion for Ystrad Mynach and is a great day out for everyone – whatever their age. Well worth a visit!"
Entrance is just £2 per adult or £4 per child. Family tickets are just £10 for 2 adults and up to 3 children (saving up to £6!)
This event is not for profit and all proceeds will go towards the running costs. It has been organised by residents from Ystrad Mynach on behalf of Ystrad Mynach Community Partnership and is run by volunteers.
