>Caerphilly county borough council is delighted to announce it has secured the 2011 BBC Proms in the Park music event here in Wales.
Announcing the news Cllr Lindsay Whittle - Leader of the Council said " "We are honoured to get the opportunity to host this prestigious event, which has become a major fixture in the Welsh musical calendar. The last night of the Proms is such a special occasion and the musical entertainment that will be on offer on September 10th will be in perfect harmony with Caerphilly's magnificent medieval castle providing a breathtaking backdrop for the performance. We know visitors to the area will also get the chance to see the wealth of attractions we have to offer within Caerphilly county borough."
Cllr Ron Davies - Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Countryside, who is responsible for spearheading the move to Caerphilly County Borough, said "We're delighted to have been asked by BBC Cymru Wales to host the concert. We will make sure everyone involved receives a warm welcome from Caerphilly. We look forward to working closely together in order to ensure this wonderful event continues to give the very best musical experience for the people of Wales"
