Dr Chris Howard, Head Teacher of Lewis School Pengam, is the new president of the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT).

Dr Howard took up the position at the NAHT Annual Conference in Brighton last weekend.

A team from Caerphilly county borough council also travelled to the conference to promote the area as a desirable place to live, work and visit.

A Caerphilly-branded exhibition took pride of place at the event and staff were on hand to distribute promotional materials as well as a few samples of Caerphilly Cheese and Welsh whiskey!

A group of young musicians from schools in the area also attended the conference to entertain delegates and showcase their talents.
