Sean Wilson, aka Coronation Street's Martin Platt, will be making a special appearance at this year's Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly (29th – 31st July).
Since leaving the classic soap, Sean has become a keen 'foodie' and now devotes his attention to his own business - The Saddleworth Cheese Co.
Visitors to this year's Big Cheese event will get the chance to see Sean taking part in exciting cookery demonstrations preparing a range of tasty dishes. They will also get to sample some of his world-renowned cheeses within the food marquee on the festival site.
The annual Big Cheese weekend kicks off with a traditional funfair, entertainment and a firework display on Friday evening (29th July). Then, on Saturday and Sunday, the festival really takes off with over 150 food and craft stalls, dance, live music, entertainment, a huge funfair plus lots of activities for the whole family.
Sean is looking forward to the big event, "This will be my first visit to the Big Cheese, but I've heard it is one of the best summer events in south Wales so I'm very excited to be involved. I have a keen passion for food and love creating some of the most exciting cheeses in the UK industry today, so I hope my produce goes down well with the crowds."
The Big Cheese is a 'must see' attraction for all visitors and has become a key feature in the Welsh summer events calendar. Portraying the history, heritage and culture of the Caerphilly county borough, the 2010 event attracted over 80,000 people. Families from all over the UK flocked to the festival site, in the shadow of Caerphilly Castle, to experience this fun filled programme of activities and entertainment.
