>Caerphilly's Trading Standards team is offering parents and carers in the area the chance to have their child car seats tested, as part of a safety drive to identify unsuitable or poorly fitted equipment.
Experts will be on hand to offer help and advice on choosing and securing the correct equipment for both the child and the vehicle.
The event will take place on Friday 17th June at Tesco Extra, Risca between 9.30am and 4pm.
Cllr Rob Gough, Cabinet Member for Public Protection said, "This is an excellent opportunity to have your child's car seat safety tested for free by our team of experts – incorrectly fitted and faulty child car seats can potentially be very dangerous to use, therefore I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and get theirs checked out".
At a similar event previously, an astonishing 68% of seats checked were found to be incorrect, with 23% having major faults, rendering the seat potentially dangerous to use.
A further event will be held on Friday 5th August at Asda in Caerphilly.
