>This month sees a number of historic buildings joining the Open Doors campaign organised by the Civic Trust for Wales.
Many of the properties taking part are opening on the weekends but Llancaiach Fawr, near Caerphilly, is offering midweek afternoon opportunities to celebrate European Heritage.
On 20th and 21st September, visitors can enjoy 'A Servant for a Sovereign' which is a tour of the semi-fortified Tudor Manor House with costumed servants from the 17th century plus a cup of tea or coffee for just £1. Tours will run at 2pm and 3.30pm each day and must be pre-booked.
