Adult learners from across the Caerphilly county borough have been awarded with certificates for City and Guilds Adult Literacy.
The classes, provided by the Genesis Project, followed on from the Open College Network course that the students completed last year. The successful students who achieved Level 2 and Level 1 success are:
Level 2
- Laurajean Turk
- Kathryn Davies
- Catrina Jones
- Lisa Morgans
Level 1
The qualifications have proven popular and worthwhile, as they have assisted one of the learners to gain employment. The courses are free and classes are held all over the county borough. They allow people to work at their own pace with expert teaching throughout the completion of the qualification. However, there is no pressure to complete a qualification.
The Genesis project, which is funded by Objective 1 European Social Fund, offers a range of courses to suit all. Classes include art, pottery, beauty, IT, literacy, numeracy and many more.
