Businesses across the Caerphilly county borough can access a wide range of support from the council's new-look team dedicated to promoting the local economy.
The authority's Business Enterprise Support Team (BEST) is based at Tredomen Business and Technology Centre in Ystrad Mynach and is dedicated to promoting the Caerphilly county borough, supporting indigenous business and attracting inward investment.
Cllr Ron Davies, CCBC cabinet member for regeneration said, "The team is made up of specialists in the fields of economic development, tourism, event management, ICT, town centre management and business support. They offer a one stop shop in the heart of the county borough and they are helping to put Caerphilly on the map in terms of destination marketing and business growth".
The team plays a key role in delivering the council's regeneration strategy entitled 'People, Business, Places'. Local businesses, employers and residents remain central to the delivery of regeneration success and the strategy encompasses all these elements in a holistic approach.
"We have rebranded our service as the Business Enterprise Support Team and they will continue to work with our partners to create a sustainable and diverse economy by developing and building upon the strengths of our people, businesses and places," added Cllr Davies.
Andrew Diplock, Chair of the Caerphilly Business Forum said, "The team has always worked hard to promote the local economy and support the interests of the business community. The re-branding of the service will provide a new focus for the team to move forward and I'm sure that the Caerphilly Business Forum will continue to work in close partnership with the authority for the benefit of the whole county borough".
