Blackwood Primary provides a quality education

    Blackwood Primary had big celebrations recently when they were awarded their second Quality Mark Award.

    A special assembly was held to mark the occasion where the Mayor of Caerphilly CBC, Cllr Allen Williams presented the award to the school.

    The Quality Mark award covers a wide range of basic skills including numeracy and literacy. In order to demonstrate their new found skills students put on a multitude of performances including poetry readings and educational songs.

    Acting Headteacher, Jane Mather said “It is wonderful to celebrate our success with guests, staff, pupils and parents. We are all wonderfully proud of the pupils and are please to have the recognition for the team work we have demonstrated as it is the ethos of our school.”

    The Mayor, Cllr Allen Williams said “I am impressed with the achievement and how discplined the pupils and teachers have been. It is a wonderful tribute to the school that their recent achievements in music have been recognised by the Trinity College of Music.”
