Family fun and hilarious tales will be the order of the day, with the announcement of the brand new season of family fun events at Blackwood Miners' Institute.
With a continually growing reputation for providing high quality children's theatre, Blackwood Miners' Institute is delighted to announce the following productions will be coming to Blackwood this season.
Award winning author, Oliver Jeffers will bring his intergalactic tale of a little boy seeking adventure in 'The Way Back Home' to Blackwood Miners' Institute during the Easter holidays on Thursday 28th April at 1.30pm.
One day, a little boy find a plane in his cupboard – he doesn't remember leaving it there, but he decides to take it out for a go right away!
He flies his plane higher and higher until he runs out of petrol and lands on the moon. He is frightened, lost and alone until a passing Martian lands there too. Who is the strange alien? Can they really be friends? And how will they find their way back home?
The production runs for 50 minutes and is suitable for children aged 3+ and families.
Tickets cost £6.50 and £5.50. A family ticket costs £22.
During half term, Thursday 2nd June at 1.30pm will see 'Little Ruby Red Tells Tales' come to Blackwood Miners' Institute.
Theatr Iolo presents an enchanting musical performance feasting and fibbing, based on young children's retelling of favourite stories from around the world.
Once upon a time, in her favourite red, red coat with its red, red hood, Ruby sets off to visit her nan with a basket of red, red apples on her arm.
Who did she meeting on the way? Three dwarves who lived with Snow White, Ella with her glass slippers and a pumpkin. And a tiger, of course! Or did she… because Ruby likes telling tales!
The production runs for 40-45 minutes and is suitable for children aged 3-5 and families.
Tickets cost £5.50 and £4.50. A family ticket costs £18.
Saturday 25th June at 1.30pm will see 'Sticks, Stones, Broken Bones' came to Blackwood Miners' Institute.
With flying chickens, brain transplants and sneaky ninjas…in each shadow puppet scene, the audience watches the visual transformation of household junk into shadow puppet cartoons. Come play in the dark!
The production runs for 55 minutes and is suitable for children aged 3+ and families.
