Caerphilly County Borough Council will be hitting the road later this term as it takes a brand new educational healthy living and environmental roadshow to the county borough's primary schools.

Featuring S4C's The Gregory Brothers, fronted by brothers Adrian and Paul Gregory and mascots Cati Croc and Tidy Ted, the roadshows will raise awareness of key issues such as the importance of food hygiene, healthy eating, taking pride in the environment and recycling.

Cllr Lyn Ackerman, Cabinet Member for the Environment said, "I am delighted that local youngsters will have the opportunity to learn more about the environment in such a fun and educational way".

She continued, "The Gregory Brothers are proven entertainers and are very effective at getting important messages across about the environment and healthier living. I am sure their roadshow programme and the messages contained within it will make a positive impact not only in schools, but at home too."

The 45-minute show is full of fun and games, as well as singing and dancing and will be performed in all of the county borough's primary schools later this term.

A free CD featuring all the songs from the show will also be given to the schools to help enable them to use it as an additional educational resource.

Cllr Ackerman continued, "We are committed to helping residents in Caerphilly county borough to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste as well as living a healthier lifestyle."

"Raising awareness of these important issues among the younger generation through education and entertainment will undoubtedly go a long way to ensuring a greener and healthier future for all of our residents."
