>iPhone mania has swept the nation and Caerphilly County Borough Council is keen to ensure it is at the forefront of modern technology.
Working in partnership with 'Ramblers Cymru' and 'Peoples Collection Wales', Caerphilly County Borough Council is in the first stages of developing 3 digital walks.
Digital walks are added to a map and can be found on the Peoples Collection Wales website along with lots of other interesting info that walkers may want to add along the way like photographs, voice recordings, video clips and writing. The information can be viewed from a home computer or downloaded to a smart phone and followed en route, accessing all the photos and videos along the walking route.
Cllr. Ron Davies, Cabinet Member For Regeneration and Planning said, "We think that digital trails are a really exciting way to engage with communities to plan the routes and to gather lots of local knowledge and stories to make the walk an interesting experience for those that use it."
The audio trails will be linked to the Trinant, Pontywaun and Crosskeys area. The project leaders are also busy planning sessions to teach members of the community to create their own trails for the future.
