Pupils find the keys to success

    Trinity Fields Special School in Ystrad Mynach said a fond farewell to 14 pupils who have successfully completed Key Stages 3 and 4.

    The school held a special assembly to mark the end of the school year and Jane Hutt, Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills was invited to present pupils with their certificates.

    Two pupils David Owen and Catherine Baker managed to achieve the highest number of stars in their Key Stage 4 over the academic year and received a special key, which opened a chest that contained special rewards for their efforts.

    The Minister proceeded to tour the purpose built facility at Ystrad Mynach to see all the good work the pupils had completed. The school offers many unique and innovative features for children and young people with special needs aged 3 to 19 to develop their learning skills.

    Jane Hutt Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning Skills, said, "Many congratulations to all the young people at Trinity Fields on completing Key Stage 4. I'm glad to see that their efforts have been rewarded and hope that David Owen and Catherine Baker will prove to be positive role models for their fellow learners. "

    • Key Stage 3: Jordan Gale and Frrancesca Turner
    • Key Stage 4: David Owen and Catherine Baker
    • Tertiary: Axl Fisher and Louisa Davies
    • Sportsperson of the Year: Lewis Purnell
    • Musician of the Year: Llewellyn Owen
    • Communication Award: Harriette Noulaud
