>Planning is well underway for 'The River Of Light lantern Parade 2008', which is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council's Tourism Events Team and Arts Development Team.
Free Lantern making workshops are rapidly approaching with the first set of workshops taking place on 29th & 30th November and further workshops taking place on 6th & 7th and 13th & 14th December. All workshops will be taking place Caerphilly Leisure Centre main hall from 10 am to 5pm.
The lantern making workshops will be run by local artists with materials all being provided for visitors to make their very own lantern ready for the parade on Thursday 18th December.
The workshops give children and adults alike the opportunity to make their very own lantern encouraging creativity and originality.
Once the lanterns are made at the workshops they will be stored by CCBC ready for the parade, and participants can collect their lanterns at Caerphilly Railway Station Park and Ride ready for the start of the parade.
Children who wish to take part in the workshops must be accompanied by an adult if under 12 years of age, with no more than four children per adult.
