    Llancaiach Fawr Manor in Nelson will be transformed into a battle ground this weekend (Saturday 23rd – Sunday 24th June 2012) at the Soldiers, Surgeons and the Kings Shilling event.

    Visitors to the Manor will have chance to do pike drill, try their hand at longbow and take the Kings shilling when they sign up for his army. On Sunday, the Barber Surgeon will be in residence at the Manor to show visitors how their battle ground injuries would be dealt with before modern medicine was available.

    The Manor is open daily between 10.00am and 5.00pm with last entry to the Manor at 4.00pm. Admittance fees are £7 per adult, £5.50 per concession or child, £21 for a family ticket.
