>Residents across the Caerphilly county borough are being urged to use their vote this week and take part in the local elections.
County borough council and community/town council elections will take place on Thursday 3rd May and polling stations will be open from 7.00am to 10.00pm.
Voters will be asked to elect county borough Councillors to represent 33 wards across the area (73 Councillors in total). There are also 16 community/town councils with 57 wards between them (185 Councillors in total).
Anthony O'Sullivan, CCBC Chief Executive and Electoral Returning Officer said, "I would encourage everyone to use their vote on Thursday and have their say on who they would like to represent them within the council chamber."
"Local Councillors play an important role in shaping the way key council services are delivered in the community, so it is important that everyone gets involved in the democratic process," he added.
The election counts will take place throughout the night and the results will be updated on the council's website and via the council's Twitter feed (search @caerphillycbc).
The community/town council votes will be counted on Friday afternoon starting at 2pm.
