>In February, Caerphilly County Borough Council tenants voted against transferring the ownership of the Council's homes to another landlord.
Since the ballot result, tenants have continued to work with the Council and the authority has agreed to establish a new Housing Task Group. This will be a joint group of tenants and councillors to oversee the progress of the WHQS investment programme and the other promises that the Council made.
During this year £20 Million is being spent to bring Council housing up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard by 2019/2020. The group will meet six weekly to receive reports on a range of housing issues and will have a key monitoring role. Tenant representation is crucial to ensuring that tenants' views are heard in relation to WHQS and other promises made.
There are places on the group for seven tenants from across the County Borough.
Information sessions are being held to explain more about the purpose of the Housing Task Group, how it fits into the Council's structures, the roles of the tenant representatives and the selection process to choose tenant representatives.
