>As part of The Big Cheese 2012, Caerphilly CBC Arts Development team have a packed programme of cultural events on show at The Great Hall in Caerphilly Castle.
Events range from exhibitions of local art, to music, and drama performances. Residents can rock out or chill out and absorb the arts experiences.
Highlights include: -
'Common Sense' is a preview exhibition of new paintings by local artist Gigi Jones. The subject is inspired by the beautiful landscape and rich history of Gelligaer and Merthyr Common.
Acoustep a band formed from pupils of Lewis School, Pengam who worked with musician Amy Wadge and producer Steve Bush who will be performing tracks from their CD.
Caerphilly County Youth Theatre will be showing their developed pieces that were performed as part of the Awen project. Work also includes pieces that were recorded as radio plays for the Cultural Olympiad.
Aber Valley Male Voice choirwill be adding to their 1000 performances times since their formation in 1959. The 60-strong ensemble has entertained audiences across the globe, and are true ambassadors for Wales and its strong tradition of Welsh male voice singing.
Jam with Robina: A Local duo whose style comprises harmonised vocals and layered mediaeval, folk guitar riffs. Drums and Spanish work impressively together at a relaxed pace.
There are many more acts for all of the family to enjoy with both indoor and outdoor performances.
